William Lawrence Saunders Gold Medal
|
The William Lawrence Saunders Gold Medal, established in 1927, recognizes distinguished achievement in mining other than coal. The term "mining" includes the production of metals as well as non-metallic minerals. William Lawrence Saunders was the 1915 President of AIME and a President of the United Engineering Society. He was Board Chairman of Ingersoll-Rand Company and Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In addition, he served as Director of numerous mining companies.
